EDUCATION: 1974 graduate of Medford High School and of UW-Eau Claire where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business & Marketing

MARRIAGE: September 20, 1980 in Sand Creek to Joan M. Dietsche

PRINCIPLE EVENTS IN LIFE: After high school Dean earned a bachelor’s degree in Business & Marketing from UW-Eau Claire. He then went on to work as a sales representative in the Twin Cities and Eau Claire area from 1979 to 1987. The family moved to the Marshfield area, where Dean worked as a sales/provider relations representative for Security Health Plan from 1987 to 1999. They moved to the Medford area where Dean worked at the Hedlund Agency from 2000 to 2007. In high school Dean enjoyed participating in football, basketball, baseball, and track. His passion for sports continued into adulthood. Dean enjoyed coaching his sons and other youth; he received the Marshfield Youth Baseball Coach of the Year Award. Dean often cheered on the Brewers, Packers, and Badgers. He enjoyed sailing at the Apostle Islands and was an avid downhill skier and outdoorsman, enjoying both hunting and fishing. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. Facing the challenges of Huntington’s Disease, Dean and his family worked to raise awareness in hopes of one day finding a cure.

DECEASED FATHER: Norman H. Lindau

OTHER INFORMATION: In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Dean’s family which will be designated at a later date to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America, Hope Hospice of Medford, and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Medford. Hemer Funeral Service of Medford and Rib Lake is assisting the family with arrangements.
