DATE & PLACE OF BIRTH: May 31, 1923 in Valders

EDUCATION: Attended grade school at Pleasant Heights School in Medford and Hillcrest School in the Town of Chelsea. She graduated from Medford High School in 1940.

MARRIAGE: September 8, 1945 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Whittlesey to Walter “Walt” W. Hamann and he preceded her in death on August 30, 2003.

PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: She took a temporary job with the ASC office and later went to Chicago where she worked for four years for the Home Insurance Company as a bookkeeper. After their marriage, the Hamanns farmed in the Town of Medford from 1946-1977 when they sold all but four acres of their farm on which they built a new home. Dorothy worked for Black Bear Inn and in the bakery at Holiday Village, retiring in 1980. She enjoyed bowling, crafts, quilting, crocheting, gardening and shopping.

SURVIVING CHILDREN: 2 Sons: Wayne (Shirley) Hamann of Medford and Donald (Sheila) Hamann of Tucson, Arizona

Daughter-In-Law: Christine Hamann

SURVIVING GRANDSON: Dwayne (Sheila) Hamann of Medford
