MARRIAGE: Married Ruth Mary (Kelly) Scott, October 9, 1948 in Antigo, WI. Ruth Mary preceded Raymond in death in 2003.

PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: Raymond achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 1937. He graduated from Creighton University with an A.B. Degree in 1943. He served his country as a Beachmaster in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific theater from 1943 – 1946. He achieved the rank of Lieutenant (J.G.). He then attended Marquette University Law School and graduated in 1948. He began his law career in Stevens Point for Hardware Mutual (now Sentry Insurance) and left in 1951 to join the Leicht & Curran law firm in Medford, which became Leicht & Scott in 1955. Raymond also served as the District Attorney for Taylor County from 1951-1959. He was one of the founding partners of the Nikolay, Jensen & Scott Law Firm in 1956. In 1987, he donated a substantial amount of time and legal expertise in assisting the individuals who wanted to save and preserve St. Ann’s Church in the Town of Greenwood; which was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995. He was instrumental in the development of the Medford to Prentice Pine Line Trail, in which he donated his legal services for converting the old rail line to a recreational trail. In 1998, he was recognized by the State Bar of Wisconsin for fifty years of service in the legal profession. He retired from his law practice in 2006 after 58 years. He served on the district level with Samoset Council of the Boy Scouts of America and was a member of the Holy Rosary Parish Council. In 1992, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Medford Area Chamber of Commerce. Raymond had a passion for music. In high school he played the alto saxophone and clarinet and led “The Owls” orchestra which played at venues in southwestern Iowa and Omaha, Nebraska from 1934-39. While at Creighton, he led the “Ray Scott College Rhythm Orchestra,” which played at venues in Iowa and Nebraska. After moving to Medford, he formed a jazz band that played for 8 years at the Fayette Hotel. Raymond enjoyed swimming and also loved to bike, curl, play tennis, and spend time at his cabin on Lake Holcombe. He participated in every National Senor Men’s Curling Bonspiel from its beginning in 1976 through 2006. He was an avid football fan, especially for the Green Bay Packers. He also enjoyed convertibles --especially Mustangs, and passed on his obsession for Mustang convertibles to a number of his children.

She was born August 31, 1930 to Victor and Laimie (Annala) Storm. She graduated from Westboro High School. Ailene married Clifford “Eddie” Premeau, September 30, 1950 in Rib Lake, WI. He survives.

She enjoyed watching all different kinds of wildlife in the backyard of her home. She also enjoyed sewing. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren, she loved to travel across the United States visiting each of them. She was a member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, and VFW Post# 7817 Women’s Auxiliary.

MARRIAGE: on November 27, 1965 Everett married the love of his life, Pearl B. Wayerski in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

WORK INFORMATION/PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: Everett enrolled in ROTC 1952, and served in the army infantry during the Korean War from February 1956 until June 1957 and later he attained the rank of Captain. Everett worked as an attorney for his entire career. He worked in private law practice, served as City Attorney in Manitowoc, Wisconsin 8and as Assistant City Attorney in La Crosse, Wisconsin. In 1981, Everett began working in Taylor County where he would work until his retirement in 2006. He worked as Assistant District Attorney, Family Court Commissioner, and County Corporation Counsel. As the Family Court Commissioner, he enjoyed performing many wedding ceremonies. Everett was a member of the Knights of Columbus at Holy Rosary parish where he also enjoyed his bible study group. He was very committed to practicing his Catholic faith and passed those values on to his family. To say Everett was a military history buff would be an understatement. He enjoyed collecting military artifacts and sharing their history from a young age. One of his favorite Saturday activities was what he would call “making his rounds” and visiting with the patrons and owners of local gun shops and taking his daughters to gun shows. Everett was able to share his love of history by teaching classes at local community colleges. He was also an advocate for pro-life issues and used his retirement to defend those who cannot speak for themselves with articles and opinion pieces. Most importantly he and Pearl made a home where his family knew they were always loved and accepted no matter what.

PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: Bernadine spent much of her younger life caring for her younger siblings. She lost her father when she was nine years old. Her mother, Alda had to work to provide for the family. Her parents were Frederick Brede and Alda Miller. Bernadine was the second of five children. After her mother remarried, Bernadine became the sister of four more siblings. She met the love of her life, Gerald and they were married on August 3, 1947. Bernadine loved being a wife, mother, and homemaker. She loved to cook, sew, make crafts, very active in church and had so many other talents. She worked as a waitress and they also raised mink for many years. Bernadine helped with their care. In later years they purchased a Montgomery Wards Store in Medford, which they owned and operated for several years. Eventually they then opened a Furniture Store on Highway 13 in Medford. Bernadine worked full time at both the Montgomery Wards business until it sold and later at the furniture business. Bernadine had many health problems throughout her life but she still managed to overcome them and care for her family and home and do her fair share of providing for their family. Bernadine was a very caring and loving lady and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

RICHARD SYNOL

Richard Synol, age 70, of Shawano, passed away peacefully at his daughters home, under the care of Theda Care Hospice, on August 11, 2015, with family by his side. Richard, also known as “Dickie”, “Dick”, “The Ole Buck”, or “R.J.”, was born on August 30, 1944, in Rib Lake, WI to the late Walter and Bernice Synol. He grew up in Rib Lake and graduated from Rib Lake High School. He joined the service during the Vietnam War and served his country honorably from 1964 to 1968. Upon returning home to Rib Lake, he married Sharon Shawano of Laona. He worked at Gem Products in Rib Lake until it closed. After that, he moved to Green Bay in 1979. He then worked at the Larson Company in Green Bay for many years as a product sample truck driver. He later worked at Gandrud Chevrolet in vehicle prep until his retirement. He loved working on both real and model cars, watching the Green Bay Packers and NASCAR racing, hunting, horseshoes and bowling, but he loved nothing more than spending time with his family. Richard had a kind heart, and made friends wherever he went, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Richard is survived by his two children, Audra Synol-Kruger (David Kruger) and Brandon Synol, both of Green Valley; five grandchildren, Keyyanna, Alex, Crystal, Jade, and Allana; one great granddaughter, Avah; his brother, Raymond (Kathleen) Synol; his former wife Sharon as well as numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ken and Donovan.

A memorial visitation will be held at Hemer Funeral Home, Rib Lake Chapel, Saturday August 22, 2015 from 11:00 AM until 12:45 PM. Cremainal Inurnment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery. Graveside Funeral Prayers will be said by Father Otto Bucher. Military Honors will be performed by American Legion Post 517.

Daniel worked for Sacramento Municipal Utility District, as a supervisor in their computer department, and retired from there in 1997. He was a US Navy Veteran, serving as a Yeoman in its clerical division. Daniel was an avid Oakland Raiders fan. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

After his service, he worked for the Bottle Gas Company in Medford for a period of time. Melvin then worked for his father-in-law at Walter Kraschnewski Construction in Medford for a period of time while also working at Milly’s Bowling Alley. He then worked at Hurd’s Windows and Siding in Medford for 2 years before he became a well-known mink rancher. Melvin enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing baseball, woodworking and watching his grandchildren play sports.
