INTERMENT: Interment of his cremated remains will take place at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery at a later date

VISITATION: St. Louis Catholic Church, Dorchester from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, April 9 where there will be a 7:00 PM Catholic rosary service held; also from 10 AM until the time of services at 11 AM on Thursday, April 10

DATE & PLACE OF BIRTH: July 2, 1926 at the Town of Little Black

EDUCATION: Holy Rosary grade school, Medford and was a 1944 graduate of Medford High School

MARRIAGE: December 27, 1958 at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Independence to Marian J. Pientok and she preceded him in death February 5, 2010

PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: After his education, he enlisted in the National Guard, Medford division. US Army veteran of WW II. Following the war, he returned to Medford and worked with his brothers at Ackeret Bros. He worked in banking & insurance for the State Bank of Medford for 11 years, Farmer & Merchants Bank in Greenwood for 8 years & Dorchester State Bank for 20 years where he was President & CEO retiring in 1991. He continued to serve on the board of directors until 1995. He enjoyed traveling, polka & big band music, being in the outdoors & reading.

MEMBER OF: St. Louis Catholic Church, Dorchester where he served as Lector, Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister, Leader of Prayer, served on the Pastoral Council & Finance Council; 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Dorchester American Legion Post #517; Past treasurer of the Taylor County March of Dimes & Medford Chamber of Commerce. Past member of: Medford Curling Club, Greenwood Rotary Club, Clark-Taylor County Bankers Assn., Dorchester Lions Club

SURVIVING CHILDREN: Ellen Ackeret of Appleton, Faye (J. Free) Ackeret of Portland, OR, & Kevin Ackeret of Dorchester

BROTHERS/SISTERS DECEASED: Brothers - Robert, Vincent & George “Greg” Ackeret,
Sisters - Catherine Dosselman, Genevieve Lorenzen
