FLORENCE M. MANN


Florence Marcella Mann, 87, formerly of Rib Lake, passed away Sunday June 26, 2016 at Aspirus Care and Rehab in Medford, where she had been a resident for the past two years.

Florence was born July 5, 1928 in Rib Lake, WI to Leo and Anna (Hoffmann) Thums, and also her stepfather Lawrence Schneider. She graduated from Rib Lake High School in 1946. She then married Andrew Joseph Mann on July 20, 1946 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Rib Lake. Andrew preceded her in death on September 9, 1998.

Florence is survived by her children; Lester (Velma) Mann of Rib Lake, Harvey (Sandra) Mann of Rib Lake, Clifford (Tammy) Mann of Rib Lake, Wayne (Nancy) Mann of Rib Lake, Donna (David) Lind of Phillips, nineteen grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren, and two step great grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings; Isabella Wilhelms of Rib Lake and Chester (Louise) Thums of Omro, step sister Patricia Bergles of West Allis, brother in law; Ben Yanko and sister in law; Pauline Thums, and many nieces and nephews.

She is further preceded in death by her Parents, sister Adeline Yanko, step great grandson Joseph Jerdee, brothers Alvin(Audrey) Thums and Elmer (Sarah) Thums, brother in law Walter Wilhelms.

Florence worked on the family dairy farm in the Township of Greenwood, and was a homemaker. She also owned her own upholstery shop for a brief time. She loved to garden, and cook for her family. She enjoyed sewing and quilting, and was a member of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Quilters Club. Florence volunteered for many different organizations including her church, schools and booster clubs throughout the community. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and enjoyed visiting and spending time with them.

Florence was of the Catholic Faith, and a member at Good Shepherd Catholic Church.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday July 1, 2016 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Rib Lake, with Father Otto Bucher officiating. Burial will take place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Cemetery in Whittlesey. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM, Thursday June 30, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, with The Rosary being said at 7:00, and also from 10 AM until the time of service at 11 AM, at church.

Memorial donations in honor of Florence M. Mann may be given to her family, for designation at a later date.
