After ten years, she went to work for Little Black Insurance Co. as an under writer for a period of time. Myra then worked for a few different insurance companies in the area before working for Liberty Homes until her retirement. In her retirement, she did record keeping and was an active partner for her family sawmill business. Myra contributed a large amount to the raising of her grandson Jacob while her son was working as an over the road driver. She enjoyed quilting, taking pictures, spending time outdoors, gardening, deer hunting, listening to country music, flowers and spending time with her family, especially her grandson.
