HAROLD O. KLESSIG


Harold O. “Otto” Klessig, 89, of Ogema, passed away Saturday August 26, 2017 at Rib Lake Health Services in Rib Lake, where he was a resident.
Harold was born October 18, 1927 in Carlsville, WI to Oswald and Lorena (O’Hern) Klessig. He was a 1946 graduate from Sevastopol High School. He married Donna Mae Peterson on September 27, 1952 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Institute, WI. Donna survives.
He is further survived by his Children: Linda (Brad Nelson)Weber of Ogema, Robert (Cindy) Klessig of Merrill, Sharon (Gerald) Hause of Ogema, James Klessig of Glacier, WA, 7 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren, Sister in Law: Jeanne (Klessig) Lattimer, Cousin Roger Schopf and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his Parents and two brothers, Merton and Robert Klessig.
Otto worked as a milk tester at The Condensery in Sturgeon Bay, and then went on to work as a welder at Peterson Builder’s Shipyard. He and his family later moved to Ogema in 1974, where they owned Klessig’s Kountry Kitchen and was a night watchman in the area.
He was a veteran of the US Army, and served in the Korean War. Otto was a lifetime fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Green Bay Packers.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Prentice, Ogema American Legion, and the Ogema Volunteer Fire Company.
Cremation rites have been accorded, and a private memorial will take place on Saturday, October 21, 2017. Interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Ogema. A public memorial service will be held at a later date.
