EVERETT L. FABER

Everett L. Faber, 98, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 9, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Everett was born on July 31, 1919 in Goodrich, WI to Peter and Leone (Marshner) Faber. He married Marie “Marion” Lapacek on November 28, 1946 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. They were married for 70 years.

Everett is survived by his: daughter Kathleen (John) Klingbeil of Goodrich; Grandchildren Lee Schmidt, Libby Schmidt (Aric Way), Joshua (Brooke Sperry), Jonathan, Garett (Rebecca) and Grant (Danielle) Klingbeil; seven Great Grandchildren; several Great-Great Grandchildren; two brothers, Gene and James; and one sister Carol (Elmer) Reimann.

He is preceded in death by his: wife Marion; Parents; Daughter, Patricia Schmidt; Great Grandson Keith Schmidt-Way; five brothers, Peter, Norbert, Harley, Willard, and Robert; one sister Bernita (Lyle) Dahl; five sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law.

He told many wonderful stories of his growing up in Goodrich, leaving home during his teenage years to ride the railroad cars to the West for seasonal labor jobs, harvesting wheat on his uncle’s farm in North Dakota, then picking potatoes in Idaho, and picking apples in Washington. He proudly served in the US Army as a surgical technician in hospitals in the China Burma India Theater in World War II.


Following his marriage he enjoyed dairy farming in Goodrich and hauling milk. Upon his retirement from farming, they moved to Medford. He was an avid sportsman and especially enjoyed deer hunting. He enjoyed spending time at the family cottage on the lake, traveling with their camper and later mobile home as a couple, and often with the children and grandchildren. They enjoyed wintering in Florida, Arizona, and Texas.
Everett was a charter member of the Medford VFW.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with Father David Nueschwander officiating. Visitation will take place at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Friday, December 15, 2017 from 9:30 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be given to Everett’s family to be designated at a later time.
