MARILYN Y. SCHOLL

Marilyn Yvonne Scholl, 82, of Medford passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 with family present at The House of the Dove hospice in Marshfield.

Marilyn was born on September 12, 1935 in Mondovi, Wisconsin to Fern “Ole” and Florence Taber. She attended elementary schools in Mondovi and Sheldon and graduated from Hannibal High School. She graduated from Taylor County Teachers’ College in Medford and taught elementary school in Hawkins.

She married Bob Scholl on November 23, 1956 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa. They owned and operated The House of Scholl Furniture store in Medford for 34 years until retiring in 1989.

Marilyn was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who had a warm, kind, generous soul. She enjoyed family activities, traveling, bowling, gardening and country music. She was a 4-H and Boy Scout Mom as well as a lifetime member of Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bob Scholl and their six children: Bobbi (Perry) Moore of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Curt (Donna) Scholl of Medford, Kim Scholl of Rochester, Minnesota, Lynda (Joe) Vick of Waukesha, Randy (Lisa) Scholl of Medford, Cyndi (Gary) Ehrike of Columbus, Indiana, seven grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Ron (Joyce) Taber of Sheldon, and sisters, Diane (Dalue) Strutz of Antigo, and Cheryl Winchell of Holcombe.

She was predeceased by her parents, and two children, Robert and Carolyn, at birth.

Cremation rites were accorded and a private family celebration of Marilyn’s life was held on Monday, March 12, at Community United Church of Christ in Medford with Pastor Mary Jo Laab officiating.
