BERNICE M. ZIEMBO

Bernice M. Ziembo, 93, of the Town of Little Black, passed away Monday January 9, 2019 at Care Partners Assisted Living in Medford, under the care of Hope Hospice and Palliative Care.

Cremation rites have been accorded, a private graveside service will take place at a later date at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery.

Bernice was born October 6, 1925 in the Town of Deer Creek to Fred and Leila (Jochimsen) Berger. She attended Flat Meadow Elementary School in the Town of Deer Creek. She married William “Bill” Ziembo on May 21, 1947 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Bill preceded her in death on May 31, 2010.

Bernice and Bill farmed in Town of Deer Creek, and then moved to Milwaukee for a short period of time. They returned and built, owned and operated the Black Knight Tavern in Little Black for a period of while residing in Little Black. She then worked at Hurd Millwork in Medford for 23 years until her retirement.

Bernice enjoyed reading and taking trips to the casino.

She is survived by her Son: William “Willie” (Barbara) Ziembo of Minneapolis, MN, 6 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, Siblings: Kate Quinn of Milwaukee, Kenneth “John” Berger of Medford.

She is further preceded in death by her Parents and two Sisters: Lucille Sackmann and Janice Rogers.
