THOMAS "TOM" M. HOLMES

Thomas “Tom” M. Holmes, 57, a Township of Medford resident died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 18 while driving truck in Lincoln County.

Services for Tom will be private family only at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford with Father Patrick McConnell officiating and military rites performed by the Medford Area Military Honors Team. Burial of his cremated remains will take place at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, Medford. There will be a public visitation from 4-7 PM on Monday, August 24 at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford. Due to COVID concerns, there will be a mask requirement during the visitation times.

Tom was born on August 20, 1962 at Medford to Kenneth and Mary (Egle) Holmes. He attended Brookside Elementary School, Township of Medford and was a 1981 graduate of Medford High School. His marriage took place May 21, 1988 at Medford to Jane M. Gebert. After his education, he served in the US Navy from 1981-1985. After the military, he worked as a owner/operator truck driver until the time of his death. He enjoyed spending time with his children, fishing, hunting, moto cross racing and his dogs. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford. 

Surviving are his wife, Jane of Medford, son, Jack Holmes, twin daughters, Grace and Lily Holmes all at home. Also surviving are his parents, Ken and Mary Holmes of Medford, mother-in-law, Donna Gebert of Medford, sister, Paula Liske of Medford, sisters-in-law, Anne (Rich) Burghaus & Susan (Wayne) Markow, both of Medford, and brother-in-law, John Liske of Medford. He is further survived by nieces, nephews and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Thomas Gebert and his grandparents. Hemer Funeral
