Bernice Bartelt (nee Erdman), entered into Eternal Life on Monday, October 12, 2020 at the age of 80 years. Bernice was born on February 2, 1940, raised in Rib Lake, Wisconsin and was baptized on September 2, 1940. She met her husband, Bernard shortly after graduating high school, and the two married on September 2, 1961. After marriage, they moved to Milwaukee , Wisconsin, then eventually to New Berlin, Wisconsin where they raised their family, and lived for over 50 years.
Loving mother to Brenda (Tracy Lewis), Bert (Lauren) and Brad (Karen Haack). Cherished
grandmother to Justin, Jennifer (Carson) , Evan , Shelly (Nate), Bryan
(Ashley), Colleen (Jon) and Roman. Adored great-grandmother to Isa. Sister of
James Erdman and Hellen Christiansen. Bernice is preceded in death by her
parents Frank and Winafred Erdman, and her sister and brother-in-law, Hellen
and DuWayne Christiansen. Bernice is also survived by nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends.
Bernice loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Bernice loved spending
time in her vegetable garden, or working on other hobbies outside. When she
wasn't spending time in her garden, she was listening to live bands with her
husband, or out dancing to polka music. No matter when or where you saw
Bernice, she was always smiling and happy!
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16, at BLESSED SAVIOR LUTHERAN
CHURCH, 15250 W. Cleveland Ave., New Berlin, from 4:00 - 6:00 PM. Service to
follow at 6:00 PM. (Masks are required, please).
