HENRIETTA B. WEGNER


Henrietta B. Wegner, 84, of Stetsonville, died Monday October 3, 2016 at Aspirus Medford Hospital.

Henrietta was born March 13, 1932 to Elmer and Ruth Hamann. They precede her in death. She married Harry E. Wegner, May 10, 1952. Harry preceded her in death June 7, 1982.

She is survived by her daughters Barbara Wegner of Athens, and Janice Wegner of Wisconsin Rapids, Sibling Elmer (Sue) Hamann of Wauwatosa, Joyce Czerwan of Kingsford, MI, and Patsy Heikkila of Lynn Valley, KS and numerous nieces and nephews.

Henrietta was a cook at both Immanuel Lutheran Church and School, and also for Medford Middle School.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church since 1956.

Funeral services for Henrietta will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday October 6 at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran. Rev. James Krueger will officiate. Burial will follow at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Wednesday October 5 at the church, and also one hour prior to the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, Henritta’s family requests memorial donations be given in honor of her to Immanuel Lutheran Church.

CARL D. ANDERSON JR.


Carl D. Anderson Jr., 60, of Medford passed away Sunday October 2, 2016 at his home.  He was born in Medford on May 4, 1956 to Carl Sr. and Rose Anderson. He graduated from Medford High School. After school Carl went on to work for Hurds and Sierra Pacific for almost 40 years.
In his spare time Carl was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, and anything outdoors.

Carl is survived by his two sons Cory (Kristie Ulrich) Anderson of Medford and Eric Anderson of Dorchester, grandchildren Bryce, Makala, Isaac, Mason, and Dominick. He is further survived by his mother Rose of Medford and his brother Roger Anderson of Medford.
Carl is preceded in death by his father Carl Sr. in 2009 and two daughters Heidi in 1983 and Misty in 1975 Anderson.

Funeral Services for Carl will be on Friday October 7, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford with Pastor Brian Wipf officiating. Visitation will take place on Thursday October 6, 2016 from 4:00 PM – 7:00PM and will continue on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00AM. Burial will take place at a later date.

PRINCIPLE EVENTS IN LIFE: After her marriage, they resided in Milwaukee where she waitressed. Then they purchased a dairy farm in Redville. In 1962, they purchased a dairy farm in Lublin. Then they owned and operated a gas station/bait shop in Perkinstown. She worked at Tombstone Pizza in Medford for a period of time. Then they moved to her present address in the Town of Cleveland where she served as town clerk for many years. She enjoyed gardening, all types of sewing, fishing, traveling, her pets and feeding the birds.

WALTER L. SCHOEPKE

Walter L. Schoepke, 91, of Medford, passed away Thursday September 29, 2016 at Aspirus Care and Rehab.
Walter was born October 12, 1924 in Green Bay, WI to Louis and Kathryn (Wege) Schoepke. He is a graduate of Green Bay West High School. He married Lois Zander on June 16, 1956 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Medford. Lois survives, and lives in Medford.
Walter is survived by his Children: Gregory ( Mary Jo) Schoepke of New Berlin, Marilee ( Mike) Vail of Cedar Rapids, IA, Grandchildren: Victoria (Joshua) Anderson, Allison (Dustin) Engel, Rebecca & Elizabeth Schoepke, and Melissa Vail, Great Grandchildren; Layla and Hudson Engel.
He is preceded in death by his Parents.
Upon high school graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy and served under Admiral Halsey as a Cryptographer, and played the clarinet and saxophone in the Navy Band. He had the opportunity to play with the Bob Hope and Jack Benny Bands on their tours for the troops throughout the South Pacific. Upon completion of his military service, Walter returned to Green Bay and worked for Sheffield Cheese and Olson Transportation. He attended St. Norbert’s University where he received his Bachelor’s degree with a major in English and a minor in History. He then accepted a position with Medford Sr. High School teaching History and English and eventually became the chairman of the English Department at the high school. During the 60’s Walter spent several summers at Indiana University earning his Master’s Degree in Developmental Reading. Walter developed the Title 1 Program for the Medford School District. He dedicated a lot of his time to the high schools Forensics Program. During his summers off Walter first worked for the Taylor County Highway Department on the road crew, and then Neuendorf Transportation as a rate clerk and dispatcher at night and during his summers off. Walter served 37 years in the Medford School District, and retired in 1991.
Walter always had a passion for music throughout his entire life. He was a member of the Lumberjack Band which played on the sidelines of the Packer games. He played in the Jolly Boys Band from Medford, and the Green Bay and Medford City Bands.
He was a member of The Landua-Jensen American Legion Post # 147, and was instrumental in the startup of the Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremonies held at the Mill Pond. Walter was of the Catholic Faith, and was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, and season ticket holder.
Walter loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed time spent at the cottage on Sacketts Lake.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday October 5, 2016 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Father Phil Juza will officiate. Burial of cremated remains will take place at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II. Visitation will be held Sunday October 2, 2016 from 3:00 – 7:00 PM, at Hemer Funeral Home Medford Chapel.
In honor of Walter, memorial donations can be given to The Landua-Jensen American Legion Post # 147.

RONALD "RON" S. KONIECZNY


Ronald “Ron” S. Konieczny, 60, of Owen passed away on September 21, 2016 in Holway.
He was born on September 28, 1955 to Stanley and Adala (Collar) Konieczny. He was a graduate of Owen- Withee High School. He married Sally Ann Kowalewski on September 23, 1976 in Medford. After school Ron went on to work at Weather Shield for 32 years. After Weather Shield Ron then went on to work for Turenne Construction and Nestle.

In his spare time Ron enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, woodworking, gardening, raising llamas, caring for his lawn, camping, big colorful campfires, watching the Packers, drinking beer and listening to good tunes, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Ron is survived by his wife Sally of Owen, children: Shannon (Patrick) Loucks of Curtiss, Shawn (Sara) Konieczny of Medford, Sherri (Dustin) Dmytro of Gilman, grandchildren: Shawna, Bryant, Victoria, Clark, and Claire. Ron is further survived by his mother, Adala of Medford, sisters: Kathy (Bill) Semanko of Junction City, KS, Karen (Lee) Paul of Medford, Linda (Don) Horgen of Almena, and Judy Bogodonovich of Stanley and many loving nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father Stanley, father-in-law Vernon “Bud” Kowalewski, and mother-in-law Marjorie “Marge” Kowalewski.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at his residence at 3:00 PM.

ELLEN M. NORLIN

Ellen M. Norlin, 97, currently of Medford, formerly of Ogema, passed at Friday September 16, 2016 at Aspirus Care and Rehab in Medford.
Ellen was born March 16, 1919 in Ogema to Harland and Ebba (Miller) Motley. She attended Centerville Grade School and was a 1939 Graduate of Westboro High School. Ellen married Raymond E. Norlin in Ashland, WI on March 16, 1948. Raymond preceded her in death on September 2, 2005.
Following high school, Ellen went to work on the family farm. After her marriage to Raymond, they purchased a home east of Ogema. She worked and assisted her husband with his business, Norlin Insurance Agency for over 30 years.
Ellen was a Lady Lion of the Ogema Lions Club and member of Ogema Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, singing and playing music, sewing, and refinishing furniture.
She is survived by her children: Dolly (Lloyd) Hadden of Ogema, Pat (Rick) Paterson of Salt Lake City, UT, John (Suzanne) Norlin of Windsor, CO., Brother Paul (Grace) Motley of St. Paul, MN, 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Ellen is further preceded in death by her Parents, Brothers: Charles (Edna) Motley, Loyd (Leinad) Motley, Lewis Motley George (Joyce) Motley, Morris (Ruth) Motley.
Funeral Services for Ellen will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday September 19, 2016 at Ogema Baptist Church with Pastor Donald Rhody officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church, beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Memorial donations in honor of Ellen can be made to Forest Springs Camp and Conference Center Scholarship Fund.
