PLACE, DATE & TIME OF DEATH: 2:15 A.M. Wednesday, May 19 under the loving care of Ministry Home Care Hospice and the House of the Dove.

TIME & PLACE OF FUNERAL: Upon Joseph’s request, he will be cremated and no funeral services will be held.

DATE & PLACE OF BIRTH: April 10, 1928 in Marshfield, WI

EDUCATION: He attended Draper School and in 1946, graduated from Dorchester High School.

MARRIAGE INFORMATION: June 12, 1957 to Dorthy Tischendorf and she preceded him in death on April 13, 1989.

PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: A life long farmer, he purchased his farm next to the family farm in Dorchester. Upon the death of his parents, he added their family farm with the help of his brother during which it became a Century Farm. He served 2 years in the US Army during the Korean War from 1952-1954, stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Upon his retirement in 1989, he moved to Marshfield to be closer to family.
Joseph was a lifelong member of the Masonic Lodge of Owen until 2009 and a former member of the Central Wisconsin Concertina Club from 1993-2007. Joseph was a private man who always had time for a friendly chat. As a giver of his time and talents, he made many woodworking projects, played his concertina for various events and volunteered at St. Joseph’s Hospital for 13 years as an escort, accumulating over 9000 hours of service.

SURVIVING CHILDREN: 2 Daughters: Linda (Duane) Brecke of Marshfield and Sue (Glen) Roth of Unity
2 Sons: Daniel Konecny of Athens and Richard Konecny of Pittsburg, PA

DECEASED BROTHERS/SISTERS: 1 Brother: George Konecny on January 16, 2010

DECEASED FATHER: Joseph C. Konecny DECEASED MOTHER: Mayme M. Erickson

OTHER INFORMATION: If desired, the family is accepting memorials in Joseph’s name to the House of the Dove or the Dorchester Library.
