PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: Prior to moving to Taylor County almost seventy years ago, Orie worked in Wausau, Chicago and Rockford. They resided and farmed in the town of Little Black for a period of years. He also worked in Hurd Millwork in Medford for 20 years. But he’s probably best remembered for the volunteer work he did in the community; he was a volunteer driver for Taylor County’s Division of Human Services for several years after retiring from farming, taking residents to doctors’ appointments or other places for services. An active founding member of First Baptist Church, he was very involved in the congregation serving on various boards and committees. A loving husband, devoted father, proud grandpa and trusted, caring friend, Orie Krohn now rests in heavenly peace.
