PLACE, DATE & TIME OF DEATH: 4:40 AM Saturday, December 11 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, palliative care unit, where he had been a patient for the past 2 weeks following a battle with cancer

TIME & PLACE OF FUNERAL: Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 18 at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford where there will also be military rites performed by the Stetsonville American Legion Military Honors Team

PLACE OF BURIAL: Inurnment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, township of Little Black

VISITATION AT: Hemer Funeral Home, Medford from 9:00 AM until time of memorial services at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 18

EDUCATION: Meadowbrook grade school, township of Hammel; 1954 graduate of Medford High School

MARRIAGE INFORMATION: October 10, 1959 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Stetsonville to Marcia “Marcy” M. Danen and she survives

PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: After his education he served in the US Marines 1954-1956 during the Korean Conflict. After the military, he did logging work, worked at Frischmann’s Garage, Ruesch Furniture & Frey Flooring for periods of time. From 1967 until retirement in 1997 he owned & operated Ralph’s Carpet Service. They also operated a turkey farm in the township of Deer Creek for a period of time. He took care of the Legion ballpark beer stand in Stetsonville for 10 years, and the Centennial Community Center, Stetsonville storage unit from 1998 to the present time. He enjoyed making firewood and watching the birds.

SURVIVING BROTHERS/SISTERS: 2 brothers-Lester (Louella) Thiede & Gene (Sharon) Thiede both of Medford
