TIME & PLACE OF FUNERAL: 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 12 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford where there will also be military rites performed by the Medford Military Honors Team

PLACE OF BURIAL: Inurnment of his cremated remains will take place at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, Medford on May 1, 2011 at 1:30 PM

VISITATION AT: Hemer Funeral Home, Medford from 4-8 PM on Tuesday, Jan. 11 where there will be a 6:45 PM Catholic Rosary service held that evening; also from 9 AM until 10:30 AM on Wednesday, Jan. 12

DATE & PLACE OF BIRTH: October 4, 1928 at Medford

EDUCATION: Medford area elementary schools & was a 1948 graduate of Medford High School

MARRIAGE INFORMATION: February 2, 1952 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford to Mary Jane Apple and she preceded him in death December 21, 1997

PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: In his youth, he used to box at the Golden Gloves Armory in Marshfield. In 1945 he won the Golden Gloves title. After his education he played semi-pro football for the Wausau Muskies football team from 1948-49. He entered the US Air Force and served from 1950-1954. He also played football for the Air Force team. After the military, he drove truck for Curtis Candy Co. in Medford for a period of time. For 30 years, he drove truck for Neuendorf Transport in Medford until retirement. In retirement he did painting & roofing work throughout the Medford area. In 2003 he was inducted in the Medford High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He enjoyed hunting, traveling, every sport, especially football, basketball, hockey and boxing.

MEMBER OF: Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford; Klossner-Dietzler VFW, Medford where he also served on the Medford Military Honors team; Past member of Medford American Legion Club, Knights of Columbus, Tee-Hi Golf Club, Medford Curling Club; Charter member of The Whippoorwill Lodge of Richter Lake;

SURVIVING CHILDREN: Daughters-Ann (Greg) Werth of Wausau, Terry Acker of Chandler, AZ, Beth (Larry) Kind of Wausau, Sara (Roger) Haizel of Medford, twins-Joan Patterson of Georgetown, CO & Jane (Steve) Paulson of Medford
Sons-Mark Patterson of Wausau & Tom (Melissa) Patterson of Roanoke, VA
