EDUCATION: Herbster, WI elementary and high schools; graduate of UW-River Falls
MARRIAGE INFORMATION: March 9, 1946 at River Falls, WI to Margeret “Marge” Carlsen and she preceded him in death April 16, 2007 after 63 years of marriage
PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: US Army Veteran of WWII. After the service, he finished his education and entered the teaching profession as an Agriculture teacher first in Dorchester and then Medford for 38 years. He coached high school curling and had a couple of excellent teams who placed 1st at the state meet. He was president of the Taylor Co. youth fair for about 35 years. He was involved with Trees for Tomorrow, the Town & Country Breakfast, the livestock show & sale, and many activities with the FFA & FHA. Hugo had the utmost respect for the farming community and was proud to be part of it. He especially loved the farm visits and talking to the farm families. As busy as he was, he made time for his family, keeping Sundays as family day. Hugo was an avid sportsman enjoying hunting, fishing, especially fly fishing, organizing activities and getting involved.
