TIME & PLACE OF SERVICES: 11:00 AM Thursday, December 13 at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Medford where there will also be military rites performed by the Medford Military Honors Team

OFFICIATING: Rev. Joshua Krieger

INTERMENT: Cremainal inurnment will take place at Our Saviours Lutheran Cemetery, Township of Holway

VISITATION: Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Medford from 9:00 AM until the time of memorial services at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 13

DATE & PLACE OF BIRTH: October 31, 1919 at the Township of Holway

EDUCATION: Hillside school, Town of Holway and was a 1936 graduate of Medford High School

MARRIAGE INFORMATION: November 5, 1949 at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Medford to Dolores “Dee” Schmidt and she survives

PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: After his education, he worked on various farms for a period of time. He also worked in the CCC camp in Minocqua. Then he entered the US Coast Guard and served 1942-1947 during WW II. After the service he returned to Medford and did various jobs including working with his father in the Taylor Co. Register of Deeds office. He was later elected ROD in 1956, a position he worked for 26 years. After retirement from that, he owned and operated Gowey Abstract and Title Co. in Medford for a period of years. He had served on the boards of Tee-Hi Golf, Taylor Co. Historical Society and Memorial Hosp of Taylor Co. for periods of time. He enjoyed his church, golf, playing cards, traveling, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.

Past member of the Medford Kiwanis Club, Medford Lions Club, Red Cross, Chelsea Conservation Club

SURVIVING SPOUSE: Dolores “Dee” Gowey of Medford

SURVIVING CHILDREN: Son – Dr. Kim (Lori) Gowey of Medford
Daughter – Sheree (Leon) Dandurand of Madison
Grandchildren – Alex Gowey of Medford, Mallory Gowey of Minneapolis & Marissa Gowey of Gainesville, FL

SURVIVING BROTHERS/SISTERS: Sister – Mary Guenther of Medford

DECEASED BROTHERS/SISTERS: Sisters – Irmal Gruny, Doris Tomczyk, Velma Baum
Brothers – Leland, Hartland, John, Ted and Kenneth Gowey
