HARRIET A. MEYER


Harriet A. Meyer, age 94 of Medford, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 5, 2016 at Country Gardens Assisted Living in Medford.  

Memorial services will take place at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford with Deacon Joseph Stefancin officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until time of services at 11:00 A.M. at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford. Cremainal inurnment will take place at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford.  

Harriet was born on September 20, 1921 in Medford, the daughter of Walter & Anna Wesle.  She attended Medford Area Schools and graduated from Medford Area High School. Harriet married Raymond F. Meyer on Nov. 8, 1941 in Medford.  Raymond passed away on April 6, 1982.

After their marriage they lived in Marshfield for a year and then moved to Dorchester where they farmed.  After retirement they returned to the Medford area.

Harriet was a faithful member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She volunteered many hours in the lunch program and the reading program at the Holy Rosary Catholic School. Harriet was an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed sewing for her grandchildren, baking, going for walks and she loved spending time with her friends and family.

She is survived by her five children, James Meyer of Medford, Mary (Gerald) Gonnering of Dorchester, Sharon (Tom) Bychinski, of Reedsburg, Joanne (Dennis) Kroening of Edgar, and Jeffrey (Carol) Meyer of Medford.    In addition to her children she is survived by a sister Joan (Harold) Bizer and a sisters-in-law Dorothy Wesle of Medford, Marion Meyer of Holcombe, Anna Meyer of Park Falls and Lydia Meyer of Medford, 18 grandchildren, Kevin, Brad, Nate, Phillip, Debbie, Sandy, Kim, Kelly, Glen, Tina, Todd, Christopher, Scott, Clint, Codi, Abby, Haley and Jacki, and 29 Great-Grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Harriet was preceded in death by her sister Audrey Klingbeil, brother Glen Wesle, brothers-in-law Alvin, Paul, Art, Clifford, Roy & Ralph Meyer, sisters-in-law Leona Diers & Evelyn Martin.  

Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to her family to be designated at a later date to Country Gardens and Holy Rosary Catholic School.
