JOHN J. SCHILLING

John J. Schilling, 65, of Dorchester, passed away at his home on Tuesday August 9, 2016.
John was born in Prentice, WI, November 20, 1950 to Edward and Elizabeth Schilling.
He is survived by Significant Other: Ruth Dassow of Dorchester, Sons: Jason (Lisa) Schilling of Marshfield, Travis Schilling of Medford, Grandaughters: Marisa and Kaylie Schilling of Medford, Mother: Elizabeth Schilling, Siblings: Jim Schilling of Stetsonville, Kenny (Brenda) Schilling of Rib Lake, Tommy (Linda) Schilling of Medford, Danny Schilling of Medford, Paul (Cindy) Schilling of Medford, Steve (Lori) Schilling of Medford, Jean (Wesley) Singleton of Medford, Betty (Doug) Acker of Marathon, Kathy (Ed) Graff of Dorchester, Mary (Ed) Laher of Medford, Grace (Pat) Tischendorf of Medford, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his Father: Edward Schilling.
John worked for the City of Medford on the Street Crew for 15 years, and then went on to log, helping on farms throughout the community, and then worked for Switlicks and Sons Construction and Fur Foods.
John loved to take part in and attend tractor and truck pulls, and also demolition derbies. He also enjoyed helping his sons with their demo derby  cars. John raced Enduro Cars on dirt track for a period of time. He lived for deer hunting and fishing. He took pleasure in watching Western Movies, going for car rides, cutting firewood with his best friend Mitch Stillman and eating a Big Mac. He was a member of Whitetails Unlimited.
John will always be remembered for his quick wit and sarcastic sense of humor.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday August 12, 2016 from 3:00 – 6:00 PM, at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford Chapel. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 PM, with Deacon Joe Stefancin officiating.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of John J. Schilling can be given to his family, for designation at a later date.
