GREGORY D. ABEGGLEN

Gregory D. Abegglen, 56, of Medford, passed away at his home Saturday, December 3, 2016, under the loving care of his family & Hope Hospice and Palliative Care.
Greg was born September 11, 1960 in Medford to Donald and Mildred (Habeck) Abegglen. He graduated from Medford Sr. High School in 1978. Greg married Marilyn Krueger on April 2, 1983 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Stetsonville.
He is survived by his Wife Marilyn of Medford, Children: Eric Abegglen of UW-La Crosse, Amy Abegglen of Medford, Siblings: Jeff (Beth) Abegglen and Lisa Dums, both of Stetsonville, Brothers and Sisters in law: Karen (Jim) Kalepp of Owen, Ronald Krueger of Abbotsford, Sandy (Denny) Orth of Abbotsford, Rich (June) Krueger of Rozelleville, Connie (Rick) Rausch of Athens, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, mother & father-in-law, sisters-in-law Carol Orlikowski, Gail & Carol Krueger.
During his high school years, Greg started working for The Farmacy, a John Deere dealership as a salesman, and furthered his career with John Deere in the Heavy Equipment Division. Following his career at John Deere, he began working for Niemuth Implement in Stetsonville, in their sales department.
Greg had a passion for Fire / EMS. He served as a Medford EMT for 24 years, and Stetsonville Volunteer Fire Dept. and EMS for 27 years. He served as an instructor for CPR, EMS and Fire, and was also a Stetsonville First Responder and was the Stetsonville Fire Inspector for 15 years.
He enjoyed traveling, and woodworking.
Greg was a past member of the Medford Jaycees & Stetsonville Lions. Present member of Stetsonville Vol. Fire Dept., Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Stetsonville where he served as the Church Treasurer, on the Board of Education, Finance Committee, and an usher.
Greg will always be remembered for his love for people. He loved his friends and family dearly.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stetsonville, with Rev. James Babler officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Stetsonville Fire Hall. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 10 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church from 9 AM until the time of service at 11 AM. Cremation rites have been accorded, burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Greg can be made to the Stetsonville Volunteer Fire Department.
