HAZEL A. (STORY) NELSON

Hazel A. Nelson, nee Story, 68, of Medford, died Thursday December 1, 2016 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Hazel was born August 18,1948 in Hannibal, WI to Leo and Lillian (Wry) Story. She is a graduate of Gilman High School. She married Thomas Nelson on July 21, 2000 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in the Town of Holway. He survives.
Also surviving are her children: Dennis Newburry of Eau Claire, Steven Newburry of Baraboo, Stepchildren; Tammy (Mark) Jensen of Medford, Julie (Tim)Gotham of Blaine, MN, Cory (Robin) Nelson of Rosholt, and Susan Nelson of Eau Claire, 13 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren. Siblings: Ellen Hoeck of Slinger, Carol Story of Lynnwood, WA, Addie Mae (Dean) Thorkelson of Lynnwood, WA, Marie Story of Post Falls, ID, Gladys (John) Wiacek of Sheldon, Debbie (Bruce) Kujawa of Eau Claire, Jeanie Story of Altoon, Peggie (Chuck) Warner of Chippewa Falls, Dorvin (Marilyn) Story of Sheldon, Pete Story of Antigo, and further survived by many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her Parents, Daughter Tina Newburry, and Brothers Darrell and Duane Story.
Hazel loved to play Scrabble and Pogo games online. And visiting garage sales, where could always find a good deal. She loved to cook, and visit with friends at A & E Tavern. Most of all she cherished her time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in the Town of Holway.
A memorial service for Hazel will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday December 10, 2016 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church,
W7809 Apple Ave, Medford, WI. Rev. Lowell Bolstad will officiate. Visitation will be held at Ours Saviors Lutheran Church on Saturday December 10, 2016 church from 9 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Hazel can be given to her family, for designation at a later date.
