EDUCATION: Attended Stevens Point Teachers’ College from 1938-1941. Completed her BA in 1970, her MA in 1971, both in education from Eastern Michigan University
MARRIAGE INFORMATION: Married to Donald W. Howe in 1952 and they later divorced in 1968
PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: In 1941, shortly after the U.S. entered World War II, Margaret left college to move to Detroit and work in a defense plant. She continued to live and work in the Detroit area. Upon her marriage, she and her husband purchased rental property in Willow Run, Michigan, which they managed as their main source of income until 1965. In 1968, at the time of her divorce, she and her children moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan, and she was licensed as a realtor. She continued to work as a realtor and to own and manage residential rental property in Ann Arbor area until 1999. In 2003 she moved to Northern Virginia. She was an avid gardener; published poet; enthusiastic cook; lover of classical music, opera and musical comedy.
