PLACE OF BURIAL: Cremainal Inurnment with full military rites will take place in the Northern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, Wisconsin.
DATE & PLACE OF BIRTH: October 26, 1938 in Stratford, Wisconsin
EDUCATION: 1956 Graduate of Abbotsford High School and Northcentral Technical College, Wausau in 1958.
MARRIAGE INFORMATION: April 4, 1970 in Wausau to Mary E. Gilles and she survives
PRINCIPAL EVENTS IN LIFE: After his schooling Don joined the National Guard. He was attached to the 724 Engineers. He later transferred to the 13th Evacuation Hospital in Madison. He retired from the military as an E-7. He served during the Berlin Crisis, stationed in Fort Lewis, Washington. He worked as the Purchasing Agent for Memorial Health Center, Medford for 33 years until his retirement in 2000. In his younger years, Don was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also enjoyed playing concertina and working in his yard..

SURVIVING CHILDREN: 2 Sons: Mark J. Farning of Eau Claire, Wisconsin and Paul G. Farning of Portland, Oregon
